Community Futures Westman continues to see immigration recruitment and retention as a priority for economic growth in Southwest Manitoba. Some of the initiatives we are working on include:

Representation on the board of directors for Westman Immigrant Services
In partnership with the Brandon Race Relations Network and Neighbourhoods Alive, hiring of a Cultural Coordinator that will be working out of the Community Futures office
Targeting immigrants with landed status to pursue entrepreneurship and small business startups
Identifying skilled labour needs in communities in the region and paring with new immigrants with landed status
Continue to promote the nominee program through the Province of Manitoba and host potential foreign investors
